Last updated: 16/07/26

This document sets out the general terms and conditions governing the sale of services offered by GB Repair through its e-commerce website, as well as the procedures for carrying out footwear repair services.

The business owner’s identification details (company name, registered office, VAT number, contact details and any other information required under applicable law) will be provided in the relevant section of the website.

Art. 1 – Definitions

For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, the following definitions shall apply:

GB Repair

The artisan workshop providing professional footwear repair services through online sales.

Customer

The natural or legal person who purchases one or more services offered on the website.

Website

The website through which repair services are purchased.

Service

Any service available for purchase on the website, including the collection, repair and subsequent return of the footwear.

Footwear

The shoes sent by the Customer for the performance of the purchased service.

Art. 2 – Subject Matter of the Contract

GB Repair exclusively provides professional artisan footwear repair services.

Purchases made through the website relate exclusively to the service selected by the Customer.

Sending the shoes constitutes acceptance of these General Terms and Conditions.

GB Repair undertakes to carry out the purchased service using techniques and materials deemed appropriate based on its professional experience.

Art. 3 – Nature of the Business

GB Repair operates exclusively as an independent artisan workshop.

GB Repair is not an official service center, is not an authorized service center, and is not affiliated with the manufacturers of the footwear brands on which services are performed.

Any trademarks mentioned on the website belong to their respective owners and are used solely for descriptive purposes to identify models compatible with the services offered.

Any use of logos, trade names or photographs of products belonging to third-party brands does not imply any collaboration, authorization or endorsement by their respective owners.

Art. 4 – Services Offered

The services available are exclusively those published on the website.

Each service includes only what is expressly specified in the relevant product description.

Any work not included in the description of the purchased service must be agreed upon separately.

GB Repair is under no obligation to perform any additional work beyond the services purchased.

Art. 5 – Purchase Procedure

Services can only be purchased through the website.

The Customer selects the desired service, completes the checkout process and proceeds with payment.

GB Repair will then arrange for the footwear to be collected by courier.

The order shall be considered completed only upon receipt of payment.

Art. 6 – Prices

All prices published on the website are expressed in Euros.

The applicable prices shall be those indicated at the time the order is placed.

GB Repair reserves the right to change its prices at any time, without affecting orders that have already been confirmed.

Any promotions shall be valid exclusively for the period indicated.

Art. 7 – Payment Methods

Payments are processed through the Stripe platform.

The Customer may use the payment methods made available during checkout.

GB Repair does not store or directly process payment card details.

Transactions are processed through secure connections in accordance with the security standards established by the payment service provider.

Art. 8 – Collection of Footwear

After the order has been confirmed, GB Repair will arrange for the shoes to be collected by courier from the address provided by the Customer.

The Customer must prepare the footwear appropriately for transport.

It is the Customer’s responsibility to ensure that the package is properly sealed and protected.

GB Repair shall not be liable for any damage resulting from inadequate packaging prepared by the Customer.

Art. 9 – Receipt and Preliminary Inspection

Upon receipt of the footwear, GB Repair will carry out a preliminary inspection to determine whether it is technically possible to perform the purchased service.

The sole purpose of this inspection is to determine whether the repair can be carried out safely and with a technically satisfactory result.

Receipt of the footwear alone does not constitute final acceptance of the service.

Art. 10 – Minimum Requirements for Acceptance of the Service

An essential requirement for the service to be carried out is that the upper of the footwear is structurally intact.

The following, by way of example, cannot be accepted:

• footwear with torn uppers;
• footwear with holes in the upper;
• footwear with severely deteriorated uppers;
• footwear made from materials that are already compromised;
• footwear whose structure is no longer suitable for the requested service;
• models not serviced by GB Repair.

If, after collection, it is determined that the requested service cannot be performed, GB Repair will inform the Customer.

In such cases, the service will be cancelled and the amount paid will be refunded, with only €30.00 retained to cover the costs incurred for collection and subsequent return of the footwear.

Art. 11 – Condition of the Footwear

The Customer acknowledges that the footwear entrusted to GB Repair is used.

GB Repair shall not be liable for scratches, creases, fading, abrasions, signs of wear, deformation, material discoloration, minor cosmetic defects, alterations caused by age or any other defects already present before the service is carried out.

Any pre-existing imperfections will not be corrected unless they are expressly included in the purchased service.

Art. 12 – Limitations of the Services

GB Repair will perform exclusively the service purchased by the Customer.

Any other damage to the footwear that is not included in the order will not be repaired.

By way of example:

• scratches;
• discoloration;
• abrasions;
• sole wear;
• upper wear;
• cracks;
• cuts;
• deformation;
• manufacturing defects;
• damage caused by use.

If the Customer requires any additional work, a new service must be agreed upon in advance.

Art. 13 – Service Completion Times

Service completion times shall be calculated from the date on which the footwear is received at the GB Repair workshop.

Except in the event of unforeseen circumstances or force majeure, GB Repair undertakes to complete the service within a maximum of fourteen (14) days from receipt of the footwear.

The timeframes indicated above are approximate and shall not be considered essential terms of the contract. Any delays caused by unavailability of materials, periods of high workload, public holidays, strikes, weather conditions, logistical issues or other circumstances beyond GB Repair’s control shall not entitle the Customer to compensation.

Should additional time be required for technical reasons, the Customer will be informed as soon as possible.

Art. 14 – Performance of the Service

GB Repair will perform exclusively the service purchased by the Customer.

No additional work, modifications or further repairs will be carried out unless agreed upon in advance.

The services are performed by hand and may therefore present minor aesthetic differences compared with similar work, without such differences constituting a defect in the service provided.

GB Repair will use materials deemed appropriate based on its professional experience.

Art. 15 – Deteriorated Materials and Condition of the Footwear

The Customer acknowledges that the footwear sent to GB Repair may be subject to natural deterioration due to age, use or the characteristics of the materials used by the manufacturer.

GB Repair shall not be held liable if, during the performance of the service, structural failures, breakages, detachments or further deterioration occur as a result of the existing condition of the footwear rather than the work performed.

In particular, synthetic materials, original adhesives, foams, coatings, leather, fabrics or other heavily worn components may undergo alterations regardless of the quality of the work performed.

Art. 16 – Unsuitable Footwear

If, following the preliminary inspection, GB Repair determines that the footwear is unsuitable for the requested service or is a model not serviced by GB Repair, the Customer will be informed.

In such cases, the contract shall be considered terminated solely with respect to the purchased service.

The amount paid will be refunded, with only €30.00 deducted to cover the costs incurred for collection and subsequent return of the footwear.

Art. 17 – Right of Withdrawal

The consumer Customer may exercise the right of withdrawal until the service has begun, in accordance with applicable law.

Once performance of the service has begun, the Customer acknowledges that, in the cases provided for under Article 59 of the Italian Consumer Code and subject to the Customer’s express consent given during the purchase process, the right of withdrawal may no longer be exercised.

If the service has not yet begun, GB Repair will refund the amount paid, less any costs already incurred and communicated to the Customer, where permitted by law or under these Terms and Conditions.

Art. 18 – Warranty on the Service

GB Repair warrants exclusively the quality of the work performed for a period of six (6) months from the date the footwear is returned to the Customer.

The warranty covers exclusively defects directly attributable to the bonding work performed by GB Repair.

By way of example, the warranty covers:

• sole detachment;
• sidewall detachment;
• bonding defects attributable to the work performed.

The warranty does not constitute a general warranty covering the overall condition of the footwear or the original materials used by the manufacturer.

Art. 19 – Warranty Exclusions

Under no circumstances does the warranty cover:

• normal wear and tear of the footwear;
• wear of the sole;
• abrasions;
• scratches;
• discoloration;
• use for sports activities;
• intensive use;
• impacts;
• falls;
• cuts;
• punctures;
• accidental damage;
• damage caused by third parties;
• improper maintenance;
• improper use;
• natural deterioration of materials;
• alterations caused by the ageing of the footwear;
• defects in the original product;
• issues not directly attributable to the bonding work performed by GB Repair.

Since GB Repair does not perform any stitching work, the warranty does not cover defects related to stitching under any circumstances.

Art. 20 – Warranty Claims

Customers wishing to make a warranty claim must contact GB Repair and provide a description of the issue, accompanied by clear and detailed photographs.

The claim will be assessed exclusively on the basis of the photographic documentation received.

GB Repair may request additional photographs if those provided are insufficient to properly assess the reported defect.

Warranty service will be authorized only if the photographic documentation shows that the defect is attributable to the work performed by GB Repair.

Art. 21 – Liability of GB Repair

GB Repair shall be liable exclusively for the performance of the service purchased.

GB Repair accepts no liability for pre-existing defects, manufacturing defects, normal wear and tear, deterioration of materials, alterations caused by age, or use following the return of the footwear.

GB Repair does not guarantee that the footwear will be restored to its original condition, but only that the purchased service will be performed in accordance with professional standards.

Art. 22 – Customer Responsibilities

The Customer is responsible for the accuracy of the information provided during the purchase process.

The Customer further declares that the footwear sent is their property or is otherwise lawfully in their possession.

The Customer undertakes to send footwear that is clean, dry and in hygienic conditions suitable for the service to be performed.

GB Repair reserves the right to refuse to service footwear showing mould, contamination, hazardous substances or any condition that may compromise the safety of its staff.

Art. 23 – Shipping and Return Delivery

Shipping of the footwear to and from the GB Repair workshop is arranged through the appointed courier.

The footwear will be returned to the address provided by the Customer during the purchase process, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

The Customer is required to check the integrity of the packaging upon delivery. Any obvious damage or irregularities must be reported immediately to the courier in accordance with the courier’s procedures and promptly communicated to GB Repair.

Art. 24 – Failed Delivery

If delivery cannot be completed for reasons attributable to the Customer (incorrect address, recipient unavailable, failure to collect the parcel from the designated holding location, or similar circumstances), any costs incurred for a new shipment shall be borne by the Customer.

Art. 25 – Intellectual Property

All content on the GB Repair website, including, but not limited to, texts, photographs, images, logos, videos, graphics and layouts, is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Any reproduction, distribution, modification or unauthorized use of the content without the prior written consent of GB Repair is prohibited.

Art. 26 – Limitation of Liability

GB Repair shall be liable exclusively for the performance of the service purchased.

GB Repair’s liability shall be limited to damage directly attributable to wilful misconduct or gross negligence in the performance of the service.

In any event, except where otherwise provided by mandatory provisions of law, GB Repair’s financial liability shall not exceed the amount actually paid by the Customer for the service giving rise to the claim.

GB Repair shall not be liable for indirect damages, loss of use of the footwear, loss of profits, consequential damages or any other loss resulting from the temporary inability to use the footwear.

Art. 27 – Force Majeure

GB Repair shall not be liable for delays or inability to perform the service resulting from unforeseeable events or circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including, by way of example:

• natural disasters;
• fires;
• floods;
• strikes;
• interruptions to transport services;
• unavailability of materials;
• technical failures;
• measures imposed by public authorities;
• force majeure events.

In such cases, service completion times may be subject to change without entitling the Customer to claim compensation.

Art. 28 – Amendments to These Terms and Conditions

GB Repair reserves the right to amend these General Terms and Conditions at any time.

Any amendments shall not affect orders that have already been confirmed.

For each purchase, the Terms and Conditions published on the website at the time the order is confirmed shall apply.

Art. 29 – Governing Law

These General Terms and Conditions shall be governed by Italian law.

For any matters not expressly provided for herein, the provisions of the Italian Civil Code, the Italian Consumer Code and other applicable laws and regulations shall apply.

Art. 30 – Jurisdiction

If the Customer is a consumer, any dispute shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the court of the consumer’s place of residence or domicile, where required by law.

For Customers who do not qualify as consumers, the court of the place where GB Repair has its registered office shall have exclusive jurisdiction, unless otherwise provided by mandatory provisions of law.

All work is carried out according to professional and technical standards, but restoration to the original aesthetic and structural condition of the footwear cannot be guaranteed.

Use of Trademarks

GB Repair is not affiliated with, authorized by, or associated with the manufacturers of the footwear brands serviced.

Any trademarks displayed on the website are used solely to identify models compatible with the services offered.

Any reference to third-party trademarks does not imply:

• authorization by the manufacturer;
• a commercial relationship;
• status as an official service centre;
• collaboration with the trademark owner.

Repairs Requested by the Customer

The Customer acknowledges that the repair is carried out exclusively on the basis of the service purchased.

GB Repair does not carry out general inspections of the footwear aimed at identifying any defects that have not been reported.

Any pre-existing damage or signs not included in the purchased service will remain unchanged.

Aesthetic Differences

Due to the handcrafted nature of the work, slight aesthetic differences compared to the original product may occur, including:

• material colour shades;
• finish;
• amount of adhesive used;
• minor aesthetic details.

Such differences shall not constitute a defect in the service, provided that the functionality of the repair is guaranteed.

Original Materials and Components

Where original components are not available, GB Repair may use alternative materials that are technically compatible with the requested work.

The Customer accepts that the repair may result in variations from the original configuration of the footwear, provided that such variations are necessary for the proper performance of the purchased service.

Authenticity and Origin of Footwear

By way of example, the warranty may cover:

No preliminary assessment involving a physical inspection of the footwear is provided.

5. Warranty Approval

The warranty will be recognised exclusively where the photographs provided clearly show that the issue is directly attributable to the work carried out by GB Repair.

If the issue is caused by use, wear and tear, natural deterioration or conditions of the footwear unrelated to the work performed, the claim may be rejected.
